Hi everyone!

I'll be honest--I've never been much of a message board person. Not for any particular reason other than a lack of motivation to do so. Yet at the same time, it seems so obvious to have done so. It's like a band you know you'll like, but you never get around to listening to. Then one day, you give their record a spin (er...digital download a play?) and it all makes sense.

So, I guess before I get in the mix, I should just say who I am, and what I do, right? Okay. I'm Michael Moreci, co-creator (along with Steve Seeley) of Hoax Hunters. It's a series that ran monthly in Hack/Slash #1 - 10 and is spinning off into its own thing come March. Literally a dream come true. I've been reading Image comics since its beginnings--I still remember buying my first Image comic, Youngblood #1. I immediately started creating my own Liefeld knock-off characters, mainly one named "M.I.A." who was a vet of some war (I knew nothing about history then) who had a giant Bowie knife for a hand.

Anyhow, all of which is to say that I'm pretty invested in all things Image, as a reader and a creator. I'm excited to get involved in this board and start talking comics!

Welcome to the boards. It looks like Hoax Hunters issue 0 was solicited for March. Is this collecting the backups that ran in Hack/Slash?

Thanks! And to answer your question, yep, Hoax Hunters issue #0 is slated for a March 21 release. It will include all the backup material from Hack/Slash as well as a preview of issue #1. We figure that anyone who is interested in Hoax Hunters but doesn't read Hack/Slash will be able to get up to speed this way; and if you do read Hack/Slash, you can get the entire backup run in one nifty collection.

Here's the cover, from Steve Seeley:

Eh, I wouldn't worry. At least it's a cool image.

I have to admit, I agree. Steve, the book's co-creator, is also a gallery artist, and I love his work. He really put a lot into this cover, and I think the end result is pretty special.

Next time though, smaller size file!

Well, I'm not. Rob Liefeld doesn't even know who I am, and I very much doubt he'll ever, ever read this thread. But thanks for the comment; really worthwhile.

Hey, Michael, welcome to the boards. The cover you posted is great-- I'll definitely be checking out Hoax Hunters.

(And don't sweat Mojo, just put him on ignore like the rest of us have begun to do. He's on a quest to get himself banned and is in no way representative of the attitudes you'll usually find around these parts.)

Hey, thanks Adam! I hope you enjoy the series. I think we have some pretty fun stuff in store.

Yeah, I think you're on to something with our friend. As I've read more posts, I've noticed the pattern. Which, in a way, I find both repellant but oddly fascinating, that someone would go out their way to be such a...let's say "character."

Anyway, thanks again Adam!
