So, after several years of reading/collecting strictly DC universe titles and several years later strictly Marvel's mutant titles, in 1992 I followed the Marvel 6 (what I like to call the founders) in their endeavor to start something fresh and new in the world of comics. Savage Dragon, Wildcats, Cyberforce, Youngblood, Shadowhawk, Spawn, etc...was a release from the well worn concepts and characters at the "big two." Becoming bored with the initial Image titles and all of their spin offs I drifted towards strictly reading/collecting Wildstorm titles. Becoming sickened with the whole "capes and tights" genre I started reading 100 Bullets which was my gateway drug to Vertigo comics. Vertigo comics became my gateway to good comics, period. Now I read titles from Darkhorse, Icon, Vertigo, IDW, and Image. Back to Image! A co-worker loaned me her Walking Dead and Invincible trades (which I'm now hooked on and buying for myself) which led me to taking notice to how amazing Image has metamorphed itself over the last twenty years. I'm proud to be coming back around the Image block again especially with titles like Fatale and Saga making their home here. Blue Estate, Morning Glories, Butcher Baker The Righteous Maker (where the hell ya at???), and Chew are all new loves for me and I can't wait for America's Got Powers and Jupiter's Children. Right now, Image fucking rules!
If anyone else would like to share the history of their Image experience please feel free to post here.
You can call them the Marvel-less 6
