I doubt they would. Sex in comics is one thing, Black Kiss is entirely something else.

Well it looks colorful... Supurbia by Grace Randolph is looking at these issues as well but from a more homey aspect I think.

Then there is Caligula. Which is not shy about showing it! I recently had to 'warn' my comic book seller about it, in case some kid was back there looking at it, but it's funny everyone who I see at the comic book shop is over 50 usually!

The kids are buying those game cards!

Things like Caligula and Crossed seem to exist solely for shock value. Torture porn seems to be a very specific sub-genre. From what I've read of both titles, the stories are pretty mediocre. The nudity and gore seems to be the only selling point.

While I haven't read Supurbia, I'm interested in checking it out. I tend to enjoy slice-of-life comics.

But back on the topic of Sex, I'll definitely be picking it up, just because Joe Casey is writing it. I loved Butcher Baker and can't wait to see where he goes with this.

I can't agree at all with you. It's not just shock with Caligula, I can assure you. The story is really very interesting. I can see where the 'torture porn' as you call it can keep out the "Rubes" but to me, that's just very funny.

I'd really love to know what appeals to you about Crossed. Because there's no real substance there but gore. And I don't know how you could possibly say otherwise. It's somehow working for Avatar, and I guess that's all that matters from a business perspective. But it does make me wonder about the mindset of the people reading it.

From a horror-fan perspective the gore could be a big draw, sure. But story is of paramount importance, and I wasn't really wowed by any of what I read.

I've never read crossed before, so I can't answer you there.
