Okay...
what is the advantage with pencilling with a blue pencil as opposed to regular pencil?
some artists use entirely blue line...is this better? is it recommended? is it okay with editors that you pencil an entire book like this?

anyone out there do it?

If you ink your work you don't have to spend time erasing pages. You remove the colored lines in photoshop. You can sketch in color as well, tighten up with a pencil. It's like inking with a pencil if you want tight drawings.

Some people just like the aesthetics of a colored line. Feels softer on the page. If you have a heavy hand I wouldn't recommend it. It's a lot harder to erase than a regular lead. It won't scan well as straight up blue lines either.
