Its too early to tell right now, but they talent lined up and the books starting right now are more interesting then anything Marvel or DC has done in the last 6 months.

In my eyes Image has produced the best comics of the last few years. Savage Dragon, Walking Dead, and Invincible easily kicks the ass of anything that has come out of Marvel or DC in the last two decades.

I have to agree with Benny, The last 3 years at least have been the year of Image to me. I do think this year will be a great year for them, with all the new titles and more big names from the big two doing image stuff. Image is just awesome! You never know what they are gonna publish next and thats what makes them great.

It was the year 2012, while the "big two" regurgitated endless superhero soap operas, Image Comics defined what the comics industry should be.

It's got the hottest line-up of titles for any comics fan that isn't interested in seeing the same-old capes and costumes going through the motions and "universe changing" mega-epics that change nothing.

It's looking like it. It also may be the year of Valiant's triumphant return. Those two things combined would bring it back full circle to the 90s. The difference this time is that both companies seem to emphasize strong stories much more than flashy pin-up art. I'm hoping both companies have a big, successful, good story-telling year. The big 2 need some competition to wake them up that the same regurgitated stories are getting old.

And I also wish that 2012 was the year that douches like "Robot 6" and "Squadoushimous Prime" and other jackass column writers would start using their real names or at least a respectable penname. I've gotten to the point where I won't even read an article by someone with a stupid name. Crap like that makes being a comic fan embarassing.

That's an interesting stance from a guy who goes by "400yrs" ... ;-)

But seriously -- Robot 6 is the name of a blog with numerous contributors, all of whom DO sign their real names. For instance, that piece about 2012 being the year of Image was written by Graeme McMillan.
