Just read Manhattan Project. Strange book. Hickman really has a thing for subjects that are out there. Liked the coloring. It was a strange twist on Oppenheimer. I'll check out the next issues.
Yes, strange is a good word but original. I thought the direction he went with this was ingenious... especially being that I am a little bit of an Oppenheimer geek. I really liked the way he slipped subtle real facts in there (like Robert Oppenheimer's baby brother really is named frank, Frank O. also grew up to be a physicist btw, i didn't even know that until reading up on Oppenheimer to brush up after reading the comic) and mixed it was completely original and compelling fiction.
The way Einstein was staring at that Mayan looking artifact, never moving, even while under attack really has me curious at the direction hickman is going to take with that character. And the twist was great!, predictable from early on but still kicked in with the right amount of punch and presented at the appropriate time. I can see this comic taking a BRPD direction with some dark twist.
You say strange... but did you enjoy it?
