Did Tom design the IU logo? Even if he did-- do you mean having him hand-draw it on the page? I'd imagine one would just paste in the preexisting logo digitally (as you would on a regular cover).
Not that Murch needs any other suggestions-- but if it were my project, after having it colored, it'd be relatively easy to monkey with placing the logo (and the "Interlude" if so desired) in Photoshop or whatever. I might print out a full-sized version to frame alongside the original (with logo or without, whichever ended up looking better).
I would also send copies of the finished colored version (with logo) to Eric Stephenson and Bobby Kirkman to try and goad them into resurrecting the Interlude.
