I saw the preview for it, and the art...wow...the art. I can't wait to buy it.

I loved the art and the idea for the story, but I think the writing and structure weren't very good.
Like the writer needed to work on another draft and find help with his dialogue.

The writing was different, but after re-reading it through several times ( I really like this title :D ) it just fit perfectly with the feel and tone of this comic. I would definitely recommend getting the TPB. I have a feeling it will read better in TPB form. IMO

the art on this book looks amazing.

there are too many good comics coming out. this has got to be one of the best creative times in the industry right now.

Now if only I could find a way to double my money so I could buy more comics. lol

This title just recently came to my attention via a fellow comics fiend. I will peep the trade when it comes out.

At Emerald City Con, my cousin found out that Carbon Grey's next mini-series in the works! Luckily my LCS ordered enuff of the Origins books for me to get both copies! Both printings of volume 1's first issue sold out at there, but I _still_ had to order the 3rd issue from Midtown Comics.

I just read issue #2 of the Carbon Grey Origins mini. Did not run into any printing / trimming issues (as mentioned in related thread). In the CGO #2 they got got Khari back doing majority (98%) of the drawn art, plus all the same digital painters. The first Origins book had some other dudes (Pop Mhan, Joffrey Suarex et al) and while good (IMO), some aspects of the Diesel Punk felt different than the art style in the mini-series. Anyhow, issue #2 looks & feels 100% right on!!

The last time I liked a "non inked" book as much this was the stuff that Kenneth Rocafort did on the Madame Mirage series for Top Cow. Wow  Awesome! Read on twitter (from Image) that the next story arc is on the Kickstarter website to raise funding for the next issues. Checked it out and they do have some bad@$$ incentives (original art, the ashcan, chase covers, fine art prints/posters, etc.)

I kicked in $10 cuz I want the Ashcan (see the Updates tab). Even if you aren't interested to throw-in, there's still some sweet art to see! URL is: http://www.kickstarter.com/projects/1457867026/carbon-grey

All the art I've seen connected to this project looks really nice, although CG does give me the impression of concept art rather than a comic book story. I saw the kickstarter fundraiser a week or two ago and I see that they are just about 60% of their goal ($24k), which is really good but still short of their 40k goal.

I hope this doesn't sound too uneducated, but $40,000.00 seems like an awful lot of money to draw a comic book?
