PLANKING and OWLING are the new HOT thing in photography, and everyone is doing it. The web is jam packed with crazy photos, so look those up if you want a good laugh. What's that you say? NOT everyone is doing it? You're right! Everyone isn't doing it because there's just something missing from the fun. And that something is COMICS!
I hereby propose a new photo series called SWEETING. Here's how it works. Set your camera timer, or have someone take a picture of you reading an issue of SWEETS somewhere, in some creative way, and I'll reward MY 5 FAVORITES with a signed copy of the SWEETS COLLECTED EDITION, which hits the shelf in late August. Who doesn't love free comics? It's a win/win. As a bonus, I'll throw in a nice sketch for you on the inside cover. As for the judging, I'll be picking my 5 personal favorites based on a few different things like humor, creativity, originality, and even the quality of the photograph. After all, if we can't see the awesome comic, what good is the SWEETING photo? However, I do want everyone to think about safety here, I don't want anyone getting hurt—lets leave that to the Plankers. So use good judgement, don't climb on on the ledge of a 40 story building, please.
Obviously, those with copies of the single issues have the advantage, and that's the idea! I'm working up a few creative ways to reward the people that supported the book from the very beginning.
Just remember to tag it and make sure I see it by replying to this thread. I'll be sharing as many as I can here and on Twitter, so the "tag" we'll be using is SWEETING.
