Seriously?

I really liked this book, but... I wish the solicitation for the first issue hadn't told us what it did as that really didn't have anything to do with this introduction to the characters. It kinda stole (no pun intended) a little of the fun of seeing this play out.

Kirkman talks Thief of Thieves in this CBR interview:

He also touches on the situation with The Infinite (ReZourceman posted that excerpt in the Infinite thread) and talks a little about TWD TV.

Read issue 1 during lunch. It's a solid, but not great, first issue. I enjoyed it but it wasn't something that really sunk it's hooks into me. The good:
- The writing and dialogue in general is excellent.
- The banter and relationship between the two (presumably) lead characters is fun.
- The characters in general are interesting.
- The heist scene is fun.
- The car thieft lesson was really cool.
- The art is quite nice and I think a perfect style choice for this type of story.

The bad:
- It doesn't really leave you with a sense of what the overall comic is going to be about. From reading interviews and solicits I have an idea but you don't get that from this issue. I realize it's on ongoing title and they can't spoil everything in the first issue. But without some more info on where the book is headed it doesn't scream "I must read the next issue" despite a solid semi-cliffhanger ending.

That said, it was still a fun read and I would want to get the next issue even if it wasn't Kirkman and Spenser (whose names ensured I'd be getting at least the first 4 or 5 issues before I even read it). I'd grade it at a B/close to a B+.

Good stuff from a top notch team.
Book felt like Soderbergh Ocean's Eleven with a more noir feel to it.
Can't wait for issue #2

Do it Quest. If you like the Lunas you should like MG. It's kind of Lunaesque.
