Here is my latest bound book, it's every time Erik worked on Spider-Man. Basically a Larsen Spidey Omnibus. I'm really glad how this turned out.

Any signifigant gutter lose with a book that thick?

There's no significant gutter loss. No more than a normal bound book. I've found that you will have the same gutter loss from 1" to about 2 1/2" using the oversewn method. There is gutter loss, but nothing that makes in unbearable or unreadable.
