Who's idea was it to put Lurch in a Hawaiian shirt? Because THAT is awesome.

Thanks about the double spread.

And, Gary has been developing Lurch that way for some time now.

Personally, I would be pretty happy if Gary and Frank stayed on for an extended period of time. While there have been back-ups I've enjoyed, I think Vanguard has been the best so far.

Maybe after Vanguard they could touch up on other Dragon related characters?

Thanks for the endorsement Benny. As nice as that would be, I have other commitments to take care of that are going to take up some time. A graphic novel from Arcana, and three other new series that we still need to shop around. Two in the works and one waiting to be started on. So once Vanguard runs it's course it's back to concentrating on those projects. If Erik wants, maybe a back-up in SD once in a while, but nothing ongoing any time soon.

I agree with Benny that I'd love to see the Van crew stick around on an ongoing basis. Although I look forward to seeing those new projects, I'll patiently await your return.

And I'll pray to the Comics Gods that the Market improves and we get a Vanguard ongoing series. A guy can dream...

Well I wish you the best in terms of where you head off to next, but I will admit it will make me a bit sad when the Vanguard seriel runs its course.

Hopefully it doesn't take you that long to come back to the HighBrow universe.

I post this on Franks topic as well, but I figured I'd post my thoughts on the Vanguard back-up from issue 176 here as well.

The art and story telling were in tip top shape and I have to admit that the way it ended was heart breaking. The way Lurch gave Vanguard a chance to say goodbye to his sister was very poignant and touching. Also loved how it actually connected to the actual issue.

In a perfect world, this back up would never end. I've enjoyed it more than any other back up in this books rich 176 history.

Sweet cover.

What issue is the Vanguard back-up going up to?
