I don't need to see Freak Force reunited or anything, but I wouldn't mind seeing a back-up story featuring Barbaric and Richochet... assuming they are still up to some kind of adventuring together. Married couple superhero partners have always been favorites of mine (Mr. Miracle and Big Barda, Hawkeye and Mockingbird, etc).

In response to one of my questions on the Q&A for SD 169, Erik mentioned that Barbaric and Ricochet will be more active shortly so we'll see more of them in the main book soon. I, for one, am looking forward to that! I love Barbaric!

I want to see Dragon himself in Savage Dragon. Color me happy that #175 is just a few short months away!

Yeah, even if he is a secondary character, I'm really looking foward to seeing him again. The Krylans have Kurr's body and the personality from the Virus body. They should be able to put those two together and get our guy back. Hopefully at least.

I wouldn't exactly call Herculian #1 non-violent.

But it does have some deep stuff in it.

I agreed with him when he pointed out how the violence seemed bombastic. He said, "You and I both like a lot of the same stuff. Either we like those classic, zany comics that weren't violent but fun in their stupidity. Or we like the indie stuff that stimulates your brain. I disagree with you on this Dragon stuff though. It just seems repetitive and predictable. I've only read ten of those comics you sent. But after the sixth issue, I already knew the next issue I picked up was gonna have some guy getting his head bashed in or something like that before I bothered to open it. Tell me, is this Larsen fellow capable of writing a nonviolent issue that's intellectually stimulating?"

I said, "Hey, he seems like a cool guy. He's patient and understanding with his fans. And he's a hard worker. And he's putting out the comic the way he wants it, and screw whatever everyone thinks. But I dig what you're saying. His writing doesn't seem to be challenging the reader's brain. And I agree cuz he could do that more."

But both of you have only read a dozen issues or something, right?

The violence in the Herculian story is purely gratuitous though--we never hear so much as a peep from it. It's just there to have it be visually exciting.

I've been reading a bunch of Kirby comics lately and something I always found as a neat visual was the cigar. Personally, I can't stand them, but seeing big ole Grimm with a big cigar in his mouth made a cool visual. Has there ever been a character in Savage Dragon that smoked a cigar on a regular basis? I can't remember any, but I really think it would be cool thing to see at some point. (Yeah, a really stupid thing I wanna see in Savage Dragon)

I believe Erik is not a fan of smoking he's never glorified it in his comic.
