Like to know any thoughts and comments on Vanguard. Big lugs been gone for a bit.

You're still rocking it Frank. It's always a great feeling having a back-up with your art in it.

Thank you, Benny.

More surprises to come for Van and company.

Haven't gotten mine either. Printer sent us the wrong comps. But thanks, Stefan--look forward to seeing what you think.

I really liked it. That panel with the wrecked krylan spaceship in the back (on page 3) looks great and that poor bastard Lurch reanimates looks so desparate.

I wonder what will happen to Lurch and Wally :?

Finally read "Homecoming". I kinda liked it even more than the main story. I loved how tight it felt with only 6 pages and not really mssing anything. The art is great as well. Looking forwart to the next installment.

Here's the back cover to issue 198.

Very pleased to be able to work with Frank on the colors for his story.

The main issue threads barely reach 6 pages now so we can't expect much more for the backup stories thread. We should've made an Erik Larsen / Savage Dragon (and related topics) Facebook Group by now (or something similar) to get more reactions / participants... message boards just ain't what they used to be.

That and, requesting feedback here, with what little is left of us, will only grant you (or any us backup-ers) praise 'cause we're all die-hard fans, I suppose ;) Not as constructive as it could get on other platforms.

I never really weighed in on the Vanguard stuff 'cause I don't care much for the character. It's cool that it mirrors the main story though and I love the art (would prefer more blacks to go with your blockish style) but I'd prefer seeing your take on other characters (like that amazing Zeek backup). That's just me, though.

Pretty much what Simon said.

There are only a handful of us here at this point. When Erik posts something here he will have about 10-20 people actually comment it on it. Post it on Facebook and he'll get 100+ in an hour or two.

Still, on topic, the back-up was great as always Frank. Looking forward to seeing what's in store in the next couple of months.

I do understand that the boards are getting slower and especially on weekends there is even less action. With that said I spend too much time on the computer as is much less getting my time absorbed in Facebook and Twitter. I'm still stuck in the 1990's.

Simon, as far as spotting in more blacks in my "blockish style" are you referring to the blacks I do put in to be more solid and less open with the hatching? I ask 'cause I've been blacking in shading like that for a while now and ponder on going back to making them solid blacks. I tend to literally follow in ink with what I do in pencil as far as blacks and shading goes. Guess that's the style I'm going with for now.

See? Me pressing the issue a little bit I got a response. It helps to get feedback although I wish I didn't have to initiate it. Thanks for your input, Simon.

I know Jim, Craig and Raven won't come on here to say anything, they like to save if for the Savage Fincast.

Thanks, Benny--it's appreciated.
