The X-Men Vs The Giant Island Monster is great. The monster looks freaking nuts as does MODOK on that one piece. I've always felt that Byrne does a good job with the more crazy looking Kirby creations. Which is why I had him draw Arnim Zola. The rendition came out much better than I could have hoped for.

Why would you want to do a thing like that?

You and Jim and Todd and Jim and Rob and Marc and Whilce are going to be taken hostage by a villain who gets his jollies from forcing famous people to forever live out life as their creations and perform evil tasks (he uses a meta-ray on you guys). So we got you becoming infused with green skin and a fin, Rob will have a padded helmet and huge guns, and Jim Lee will have myriad belts, a short brown jacket with the sleeves rolled up, and an open-top cowl so his flowing hair can fly free, etc.

Todd will just be Todd with a Spawn logo shirt and a baseball cap but huge chains constantly flying around, but he's just all calm and collected Todd, just wanting to forever talk shop and baseball, and the chains are the ones who are all crazy.

Then my main dude will find a way to reverse the condition, but first he convinces all you guys to use your combined powers to defeat the villain in a glorious final battle full of flying fists and meta humor, whereupon we reach the denouement that, in fact, you guys always had all those abilities in you to since birth, and the villain only made you able to see your true power, but he wanted you to use it for bad, but my dude rallied you all to use your powers for good.

EDIT: And, yes, "a short brown jacket with the sleeves rolled up" will be one of Jim Lee's powers.

That actually sounds pretty awesome.

I'd rather you not, actually.

I wouldn't say this is the best idea, but it is a creative one.

Wouldn't it be fair use anyway? I mean, it's too bad that Erik's not in favor of it, but isn't this idea in the same realm as caricatures of politicians and movie stars? I'm not sure you have to ask for permission since the concept is so obviously parodic. If you're still inspired, go for it. Just call the guys Eric Larson and Todd MacPharlaine and screw up the Eric-Dragon's fin, to be on the safe side.

Sure there are ways around it but if he asked for Erik's blessing and was turned down it would be kind of bad form to go through with it anyways. I mean why bother asking?

His most recent ones are kinda decent, except for Cap's "O" face.
