You have always straddled that line in the comics

When I read that the first thing that popped into my head was Rapture on top of Dragon in issue 14? I think....LOL.

In addition to what I wrote in my Facebook reply (expressing concern over retailers bagging TSD issues on the racks), I want to say that the biggest difference between what anyone can find on the internet vs what they can find in your comics is the simple fact that you the creator are the one drawing the images so any adult stuff will automatically be better if it's from you.

Did you mean bagging as in polybagging or simply not putting them on the shelves? Because I have yet to find a comic shop in Oregon that stocks current issues of SD. I have to special order mine. Fuckers.

My LCS does carry TSD (I subscribe to it in my box but they also get extras on the shelf for browsers). 99% of all the comics on the racks are open for flipping through before buying, however if there is something that is a hard M -- anything with actual sex inside basically, where you see XXX stuff -- they put it in a bag and board so kids can't look at it.

I don't have any strong opinion either way, but I'm curious as to how this would affect things like the accidental undressing/de-pantsing scenes in #216. Or Maxine going commando in #203. They would have felt uncomfortably gratuitous if they had been explicit. The reason they work is that – as extreme as they get – everything is just implied.

If Savage Dragon had been an anything goes book, would those scenes have stayed the same, been drawn differently, or been pointless to include at all?

I say go for it. Most of the readership is adult male (I'd say 95%) and Erik can definitely draw a beautiful pair of breasts. As long as its not pornographic I say nudity fits with the style/tone of the book. If I recall correctly comics like Preacher had nudity but it was relatively subtle and fit into the story.

Erik, I didn't see a thread for #222 today so I'll just post here that the amped up adult content really worked for this story. I think it fit both the action plot and the soap opera drama well and while it definitely earned the M rating when combined with the language choices, I felt you didn't overdo it. I am happy with this direction and hope you got enjoyment out of creating it. We are quite lucky that you decided to try it just in time to include both Alex and Jennifer too =). Thanks

I say just do whatever you want, won't really affect my enjoyment of the book either way.
