I've already commented over on facebook, but I'll just reiterate that I see nothing wrong with a bit of nudity if it fits the story. I imagine it must get really irritating to have to find new and inventive ways to block out certain bits. Having just read #220 I can see why you are asking this question. I say go for it.

I don't have a problem with it. I've been here from the beginning and there was never a time when I thought this wasn't an Adult book.

I don't see why it needs it. I thought that the 3-some/Lesbian were pretty jarring with the tone of the book to be honest.

But it's your book Erik so you can do whatever you want.

Does Spiderman (the book I'd compare it to) need nudity?

Just curious--how many readers have even passing awareness of the ratings comic books have? Are you aware Savage Dragon is rated M/Mature? M/Mature is actually the STRONGEST rating Image Comics has--

I don't see any indication of a Mature label anywhere on the latest issue (220) nor on the latest Walking Dead (163). A random customer would have no way of knowing how the book is rated as it stands. What's the point with having a rating if it has zero presence on the product?

It's on the UPC which retailers look at when books are scanned in. It's not a major presence, I'll grant you, but it's there.

I don't think of it as a Spider-Man like book. Savage Dragon has pushed the boundaries since day one. You'd never find anything like the following in the pages of a Spider-man book:

Yeah, I'm not a Spider-man fan but when I started reading the book (25 years ago!) that's what it reminded me of. I suppose I allways thought of the Dragon as comparable to the best superhero books Marvel or DC put out but with everything turned up to 11. We know Peter Parker banged the hell out of MJ but do we need to see it?

As for your Dragon examples above there's sexuality and cheesecake and mature situations (and I love the HC Front pieces) but no real nudity; so why would the book need it?

Has there been any instances where you feel the book has needed nudity?

It doesn't "need" anything. But oftentimes avoiding it becomes really awkward--with conveniently placed hands and objects obscuring naughty bits. I'm not saying it should be all naked all of the time--but it'd be nice to have that on the table.

In that case I change my answer; go for it. Bottom line is it's your book you shouldn't have to EVER censor yourself.
