I'm a long-time fan of ShadowHawk, ever since I bought the very first issue on the day of release. He's always been my favorite Image character. I hate for my first post here to be a bunch of questions, but these are a few that I've just always wondered about.

1) Paul Johnstone. Is his last name actually pronounced 'john-stone' or is it more like 'john-sten?' (Always bugged me not knowing the exact pronunciation.)

2) I seem to recall at one time during the original ShadowHawk series there was a spin-off series featuring Slaughter in the works. Did that ever come about?

3) Whatever happened with Images of ShadowHawk? I remember it was supposed to be an ongoing series. The first couple issues guest starring Trencher were pretty cool.

4) In The ShadowHawk Saga (I think this came with an issue of Hero Illustrated), it says "Can A Hero Die?" would be three issues (#18-20). I assume this was simply later condensed into a single issue as that story was further developed. If so, how different (if you can remember; I know it's been many years now) was the final story originally before it became a single issue?

5) Finally, since the 2010 ShadowHawk resurrection was canceled, is there a possibility of mini-series or even at least occasional ShadowHawk one shots in the future?

Thanks.

1, I've always pronounced it with a silent e, so Johns-TON

2. No.

3. The folks we had on tap for the second arc flaked, sales weren't great, so we canceled rather than scrambled.

4. Really? I don't recall that final story ever being more than the single issue.

5. He will be appearing in BOMB QUEEN series 7 (on sale soon).

Thanks for the answers, Jim. I appreciate it. :)

Glad to know he'll still be around making appearances. Things got a little crazy for awhile and I fell behind on Bomb Queen, but I'm working on catching up and am looking forward to seeing ShadowHawk there.

Hi! Just joined. :)

I'd like to ask a question too, if that's cool.

Jim: What are the chances of using Shadowhawk cover art for a concept CD (Maybe a reprint mini-comic too)?

I'm in a band called Mass Rejection (Rock/Metal) and would love to release some kind of tie-in with the character!

We've got a bunch of songs in mind for Shadowhawk too!

What do you think? :)

I think not.
While I appreciate the interest, but my plan is to let the character lie for a while.

When we're ready we will bring him back--but, it's not going to be for a very long while.

Very nice of you to think of him, however...and to ask.

Thanks for the response Jim!

Got to ask or you'll never know! ;)

Jim,

I came across a copy of ShadowHawk II #1 "Official First Day of Issue" signed copy from Golden Apple Comics. I know that signings were held at Golden Apple for quite a few of the Image guys on the day of release of their #1 issues - did you do the same for ShadowHawk v1 #1?

Image

Thanks!

Yes.
And that is my signature.
It's authentic.

Thanks! Was ShadowHawk II #1 the only book you did a "first day of issue" signing for?
