Rob,

I know there were three sketchbooks--SDCC '09, '10, '11--and I believe there was an ultra-rare pre-Larry's version of the first one (50 copies, I think?), but did I hear about a NOLA exclusive? I think I read about it before the old board went away--maybe it was the same as SDCC '10 but with the NOLA name on the cover? Also, I've seen the cover to 15 as a "lithograph." Did you have those at SDCC '10, or was I just looking at a cover someone had taken off the book? Finally, any chance the Poyo tees are still available? If I'm forced to take over darkhuman's job as keeper of the Wall of Chew, I'm going to do my damndest to have everything (except the pre-Larry's; not even going to try for that one).

Ras, so far there have been 6 sketchbooks done. 09 NOLA (behind the scenes) Only 25 of those made (and the only one I do not have) Then 09 SDCC, 09 LARRY'S, 10 NOLA, 10 SDCC, 11 SDCC.

The litho/print has been done twice. First at SDCC 10, they did 25 #'d copies. At the next NOLA Rob had some more. There are minor differences between the two. The SDCC version has a white border, top and bottom and it says "CHEW" on it, the NOLA version has no border. Here are pics of em. I still need the SDCC one. That's the only two things I do not have in my collection, the 09 NOLA sketchbook and the litho/print from SDCC. Hope that helps

You should be doing the wall! Thanks for the information, very cool. 25, huh? Wow, yeah, not going for that one. When you don't see something come up on eBay ever, ever--warning. Do you have pics of the NOLA books?

Never mind, I found the pictures. Searching for myself, what a concept. ;)

Glad you found the pics. I wish one of the 09 NOLA would come up on ebay, I would be ALL over that bad boy. It does happen, the first chew shirt took me almost two years to get but once it showed up on the bay, it was mine.

As far as doing the wall, I tried when you first asked about it after the switch here, my living space does not allow me the room to spread it all out and then take a good, viewable pic of everything.

Oh, I still need one of the patches also but I'm in no hurry to get one of them. Though I do have my preorder in on the next shirt, CHOG!!!! Can't wait to get it.

You're now speaking of things I don't even know about. Patches? Chog shirt? Didn't know. Have you sold some things on eBay? I've seen your name around the net, along with a couple of people on eBay I know are here (but I won't name, they may not want it).

Chog shirt, > http://robguillorystore.com/apparel.html

The patch they did for 11 SDCC. Just the "CHEW" title in red.

Haven't sold anything in years on ebay. As far as my name on the net, every site I sign up on, my name is "aspawnfan". So very possible you've seen me on other comic sites.

Yeah, it's been in Chew-related discussions that I saw you. I just got a sketchbook from one texrimjob, who I also see in Chew discussions. I believe 400yrs just sold a ton of Chew stuff on eBay. He might have been the one who sold the entire run with all printings and variants. It was epic.

Edit: nope, wasn't him:

Definitely not me. I doubt I'll be getting rid of my singles any time soon. I kind of gave up on the sketchbooks. I have a few, but they are too tough to track down. I'd love to find a copy of the litho for #15 though.

Instead, I've been buying a few pieces of original art here and there when I can from Rob and April. Those and the Christmas cards from John and Rob are amongst the favorite things in my comic related collection.

Chew continues to be the best book out there from month to month, in my opinion.

The litho you guys are talking about is just a really high-quality inkjet print (the one pictured with the white border). We only printed 25 for SDCC 2010. There was no second printing of this. The posters you're probably referring to are just unfolded covers of CHEW 15. John and I have been selling those since the issue released.

The 09 NOLA sketchbook is ultra limited. Only about 35 of those exist.

Hope that helps.

It does. Thanks for the information. I believe you explained the issue 15 cover situation before on the old board, but I wasn't chasing rare goods back then, so I missed the details. That one, I can safely ignore then. And, 09 NOLA just isn't going to happen, so I'll give up the hunt for that one as well.

Good to see you back, 400yrs. It seems you've been kind of scarce since the boards returned.

Question for you and anyone else reading this: have you been able to track down NM copies of issue 22? I'm lucky enough to live in a city with many, many comic shops--there are four in my normal areas of operation, and four more I can get to with a little extra effort--and having gone to five of those shops, the copies shipped to this area seem to all have the same defects. The spine corners are torn on both covers, and there is something that looks like a thumb impression on the right side of the Olive cover (it extends all the way through the book, and since it's on every copy I've seen, it was caused by a machine and not a thumb). This sounds petty as hell reading it back, but as a collector (not a speculator), I do like having the best copies for my private collection. Issues like this seem to crop up every once in a while. There was an Invincible that I could not find without scuffing on the cover, and I think every issue of Severed has been damaged in one way or another. You know, if it's an issue of Avengers or something, I just roll with it. But, things that have a little more staying power with me, I wish I could have perfection.

Well, that was theraputic. I feel a little better about the copies I have--and I know people who would say, "Who cares about the condition, and what idiot would buy both the Tony and Olive covers when it's the inside that counts?" :D
