Yeah, Mike, it would be nice to have a way (other than being independently wealthy) to be able to comfortably afford to spend more time with family and friends without working... unfortunately, I haven't figured that one out yet.
On a book note, I just finished Haggard's King Solomon's Mines
, which was a pretty fun read. It was fairly crude (and apparently written in 6 weeks on a wager with his brother), but a good adventure tale, nonetheless. Of course it's best known for introducing the world to Allan Quatermain, marksman, hunter, and member of the Alan Moore's League of Extraordinary Gentlemen
. It was all written in the first person, Quatermain being the narrator, recounting the tale of his adventure for his son.
