Mine's not too much more than that. My brother-in-law asked for pictures when I told him I was cutting the tree down, so that's what some of mine is.

Company declared bankruptcy and the restructure is moving the company to North Carolina. As much kudos and praise as I've received from the Acting CEO, she's not willing to allow me to operate from home or offer me a position in the States. I'm OK. The bad news is that my wife lost her government job the same week as my announcement so she's stressing a little. I'm a worker bee, so it doesn't worry me as much. I heard minimum wage is $10 an hour now. I can live on that. lol

Glad you're so positive about all this, EK. Hang in there and enjoy your break, man.

Honestly, my wife thinks it is so funny but the six months I was off last year were without question some of the best times. I got to walk my kids to the bus every morning, drop off my preschooler each day, pick her up, grab the kids from the bus, and best of all eat lunch with my wife every day. That was really such a great time. I tried for six months to figure out how to get somebody to pay me to stay home.... couldn't figure it out so I got another job :?

Shitty to hear about your job situation, EK. :(
I'm sure it'll work out for you. In the meantime, we can tear it up at NYCC in less than two weeks!

Yeah, Mike, it would be nice to have a way (other than being independently wealthy) to be able to comfortably afford to spend more time with family and friends without working... unfortunately, I haven't figured that one out yet.

On a book note, I just finished Haggard's King Solomon's Mines, which was a pretty fun read. It was fairly crude (and apparently written in 6 weeks on a wager with his brother), but a good adventure tale, nonetheless. Of course it's best known for introducing the world to Allan Quatermain, marksman, hunter, and member of the Alan Moore's League of Extraordinary Gentlemen. It was all written in the first person, Quatermain being the narrator, recounting the tale of his adventure for his son.

I'll have to check that out Murch. Can't believe I have never read it.

On a different note, I almost lost it on a co-worker today. I'm more disappointed in the fact that I lost my temper because he was being ass than anything. Sad part is, he thinks the reason I was mad was that I disagreed with him, not because he didn't give me a chance to express my view on the subject. First time in a long time I just had to walk away before I punched somebody.

Remind him tomoro that walking away doesn't mean he won an arguent, but you just had no more of your valuable time to waste listening to his siliness. :)

I've decided just to ignore him. It is obvious that he is always right, and no other opinions on anything matter. So I will just not waste any more energy or time on trying to be nice to him when obviously it is not recipricated.
