Just curious... Anybody know whether Lou Ferrigno can read lips? Is it possible he can't hear anything anybody's saying to him?

I was wondering the same thing.

Haha, Ed! The story bout Alex is funny.

I had actually helped David Hine sell some of his books at last year's NYCC. I hung out and helped out at his table and I would be the one to help him reel people in and when he left to do interviews, he'd return and found out I made him so much cash. He kept asking how I did it and I told him a few tricks yet he was so nervous to try them, it was hilarious.

Alex, all these years when will you finally hit up NYCC? You're one of the few of my favorite creators I've yet to meet.

( I am a little shy, I guess, Ed.)

Weirdly, I was in NY during the con last month, but didn't get a chance to go there. I'm betting I'll be there next year.

I don't know yet. I might have to skip it next year because it's mighty close to my deadline on the second novel. I may be at the inevitable panicky stage by then, cooped up in my tiny office, typing my fingers to the bone.

I hope to hit a lot more cons after that.

Well if you get that done you should consider carpooling to C2E2!

Most awkward convention story I can think of would be Alex Ross, who was crazy busy at NYCC that year. I mean it just didn't feel like I was meeting a guy who'd been responsible for a lot of my love of the industry as the teenager, it felt like he brushed me off a bit.

I like making new friends or seeing old ones at conventions. Like it always seems that if I don't find them, guys like Tim Seeley or David Hine find me.

My favorite moment of NYCC this year was picking up my press badge from a friend and then walking the city that Thursday with a really good friend. As we were leaving the Javitz, we walked by Claudio Sanchez, his Wife Chondra and their manager Blaze. I waved and said hey to which Claudio and Chonny said hi in response.

When we were a little further away, my friend sean turns to me and asks if that was and I quote "that claudio guy" to which I laughed and said yes. He asked me if they were being nice or if they actually knew me. I shook me head and told him of course they know me and that I'd been talking to them every NYCC I went to for the last couple years.

Later that day I told Chonny about the conversation when I saw them again at the show, she laughed and told me that right after we walked by she turned to Blaze and told him who I was. It's awesome moments like that that make a con for me. 8-)

Heading out to Fabletown and Beyond in a couple hours. Would have been on the road except for work. I'll let everyone know how it was when I get back.
