Last month I was complaining to an artist friend of mine about how I was having difficulty coming up with content for my blog. I told him that if I was an artist, I'd do what he's doing and make a list of characters and sketch a post every day.

My friend then verbally slapped me around for a bit and suggested that I write a story, in short installments, and post an installment a day.

And so that's what I'm doing.

I'm writing my version of Goldilocks and the Three Bears.

But here's the thing. I have no idea where I am going with this story. I write up an installment each day and try to build on what I've written previously, but I really have no idea where this thing is going.

My only goals are to post an installment each weekday, and that each installment has to be a minimum of 100 words. I'm not doing so great on the every weekday thing, but the minimum word count hasn't been an issue . . . yet.

I'm now fourteen parts and 3,600 or so words in.

And hey, I'd like to invite you all to take a look at it if you got the time.

You can find the first part here:

I'll take a look, Steeven. For the record, that's how I write too. I just jump in and write a certain number of words every day and at the end of awhile I've got a story. Nothing to it! ;)

I have finished the first draft of my Goldilocks and the Three Bears reboot.

If you have been reading, or are going in to read for the first time, this is merely a first draft. An experiment to try and create content on the blog by writing at least 100 words a day as part of a story and post them each day.

36,000 words later and I am done.

I'll be posting my thoughts, what I learned, what I did right, what I did wrong, in the next day or so over at my blog.

I can't believe I'm done!

Here are the last two parts:

Goldilocks and the Three Bears - Part Forty-Six

Goldilocks and the Three Bears - Part Forty-Seven

Congratulations, Steeven. That's an impressive feat. Next time, try doubling it. 8-)

Thanks, Alex.

My next step is NaNoWriMo (National Novel Writing Month). I'm going to give that a try for the first time this year.
