I'll start up the chatter on this one since all the others got wiped.

Come join me in talking about one of the best, if not the best book on the shelves right now.

This story from the beginning has introduced many new factions to the story...

What was your favorite one? What was the one you "dislike" the most? By dislike I mean who is the "bad" guy in the story for you.

My favorite so far is the Maeven. I love the strong but distant killer aspect of them. Every type of roll playing game I've ever played I always try to be a "ranger" type of character so I have a soft spot for them. But these ladies in the story prove that they are just as capable as the men, and some of them are headstrong too. I love the way they compliment the Templar.

My "dislike" group would have to be the priests after the last issue. The whole "we didn't hear from Wotan so it didn't happen" is a huge way of trying to stay in power in my mind. They are so set in being the "authors" of Wotan's will and desires that they have missed a direct sign from their deity. So instead of believing that Wotan would deign to pass his glory to someone below them, they will not help Karic, but seem to be going out of the way to stop whatever path Wotan has set before the young mouse.

So I was thinking about this story the other day. And that usually leads me to reading it again. Which I haven't had time to do yet. But I will.

Very much looking forward to issue #5. Can't wait to see how the new group of Karictists (it's a working title :D ) interact with everyone else. So far the Templar war has been diverted, but as more and more groups are introduced it seems like a new war between the Templar might be inevitible. Though with everything else going on, you would think they would be able to work together long enough to take care of the real threat. But that is the intrigue when you begin dealing with beliefs, and deeply held truths. It's hard to see the forest for the trees.

Logged into the new message board for the first time!

Thanks, Ed, for making the place comfy for my arrival!

And your insights are spot on, as usual!
The tyrant king Icarus remains in power because those who oppose him are so effectively divided they're no longer capable of unification without one side or the other abandoning their deeply-held principles.
It's gonna get ugly.

I wonder, very few of the Templar actually know Karic. He has met with a couple of groups of Templar. Is Cassius' group spreading the word about him to the Templar that were one his side? Or is word of Karic's deeds getting around? Is he going to be propped up as something that he really isn't? And is that going to cause troubles later on in the story?

We the readers, have had the luxury of seeing the story from the beginning, but the Templar groups have not. So will there perception of Karic be in conflict with what and who he actually is now?

Lot's of questions, and I don't expect them all answered here, but some thoughts I had on the series as it's moving forward.

A significant answer to one of your major questions is revealed in the very next issue, #5

Color pages are rolling in, and we hope to be shipping it off to Image Central very soon!
