#7 - The ending was a doozy. I did not expect that at all. I thought it was the black guy, but then......... OMNI-MAN.

I still say it would've be much better suited as a 4 issue arc, rather than a double-sized issue. I would have loved to have seen more of the fights on paper, rather than just single panels that leave you to "figure it out" for yourself.

Agreed. Although I still find it a fun read and I can appreciate what Kirkman was trying to pull off. It just would have been more fun to expand this bad boy.

His sacrifice isn't nearly as powerful as it was the first time around, but how could it be? It's still is one of my favorite comic death scenes and has forever redeemed him. He will always be remembered (at least by me) as the incredibly noble and courageous character he was at his end.

Me too. He was starting to become pretty cool anyway but I never really warmed up to him that much until after this. Now I pretty much just think he's pretty awesome even when re-reading the early issues when he was a bit of a jerk.

I also loved getting little tidbits of back story on the altInvincibles, even if it sometimes felt forced.

I thought this was one of the best parts of the issue. Kirkman was able to give us a sense of some of the different histories these guys had in a small amount of space.

During my Invincible re-read I noticed that Gravitator says "Jill will never marry me now" when he first meets Invincible. And in the next issue when Invincible meets Gravitator's fiance, her name is Hannah... or at least that is how she is introduced.

Sina is slippin...

Shit, you blew past me. I'm only on issue 35. Since it's tax season, I haven't had a day off in a couple months, have been regularly doing 65 hours (over 80 last week), and it's been hard to just read my weekly comic stack each week. Today is the last day though so I should be able to get through my re-read soon.

I didn't notice that with Gravitator's fiance. I wonder if I would have noticed when reading them back to back.

I'm only on Issue 25 in my re-read, but something I noticed from an earlier issue was when the Flaxans retreated back into their dimension and Robot (and team) let them go. Mark wants to chase them but Robot says something like, let them go, there's always a chance one of our enemies could realize the error of their ways (very loose "quote") and Mark is skeptical but goes with it. Fast forward to now and its very interesting how Robot is viewing Mark's relationship with Dinosaurus.

It's also interesting that a later invasion by those same aliens results in Robot leading the charge after them to put a stop to the threat once and for all. Guess he decided that these enemies weren't ever going to learn the error of their ways. Good catch on that.

I finished the Compendium last night, but no one really reads something that large very closely, so this weekend I'll post some more reviews/questions after I reread them. This is an amazing series.

Also, Mark and Eve. Awwwwwwww yeah.

Issue #47. I'm going to start buying the floppies at my LCS so I can jump in once I catch up. It looks like there is some awesome stuff on the way.
