Another really solid issue from Kurtis and Riley - while this issue had a wild start and a surprise finish, it felt a bit like a transition issue, changing pace from the first part of the arc into the next, assuming toward its conclusion. We didn't really get as much of the cannibal/zombie kids in this issue as I thought, but that's okay. The re-appearance of the Nemesis-looking Green Wake monster take down one of Esther's friends was particularly gruesome. Violence on all sides of the Green Wake "community" seems to be reaching a tipping point with Morley obviously not wanting to fan the flames. Also, the surprise ending with Micah going to Morley was very interesting and opens up all kinds of possibilities for future issues. Is Micah really seeking Morley's help or is he setting up a trap??
Riley's art remains awesome as usual - particularly good were the previously mentioned Green Wake monster doing its eye-gouging thing and the first couple pages with Micah's observation of a violent encounter between Native Americans (or Canadians?) and soldiers representing white settlers.
P.S. My copy of Green Wake didn't have an issue number, Image logo or price on the front cover. Was this a misprint?
