I recently decided to start a full on blog to keep content coming in between the release of my comics. It's a mix of short stories, behind the scenes peeks, process pieces and unreleased material.

Follow along, feel free to comment here or on the blog. Traffic has been very steady, which I'm thrilled about.

Today I posted about a previously unreleased 5 page comic short called Faith, which is a tie-in to the Snow Angel OGN I did with Peter Panzerfaust illustrator Tyler Jenkins. Haven't read that? Lucky you, Tyler's provided it all for free here:

Cool - thanks for sharing that. I read the Snow Angel graphic novel online a day or two ago. Dang, it was depressing (but I definitely liked it). The short you just posted was interesting too, the art was just a bit reminiscent of Aeon Flux. It made me notice though, Kurtis, I really miss your narrative captions.

The exceptional quality in the various narrative voices is the most basic reason why I like Green Wake so much. I mean, it's enjoyable on every level to me (art, plot, dialog, the details), but there's this awesome middle ground it reached between a "simple" comic reading experience and one that's closer to the rewards of reading a traditional, "no pictures" classic novel. The killer narrative is the primary ingredient to achieving all that in my opinion.

A new blog post where I share the long history of my very first comic script and it's morphing into the pitch it is now with artist Andrew MacLean.

For just showing a few pages, I really like what I see, I'd totally read "The Yank Shots." The art, premise and bowling theme are really fucking cool.

I finished the first script last night. It's a giant action sequence haha.

P.S. I really like the colors popping on these pages - like some of the other vibes of Debris, it really looks like a nod to the bright pastel-dominated pallete of classic 80s anime.
