The Mice Templar first appeared on Mike Oeming's website way back in 1998...

That first story debuted in print in 2003, in the MORE FUND COMICS charity fundraiser for the CBLDF!

In 2006, a second story appeared in another fundraiser, this time for the Hero Initiative charity!

The Mice Templar then debuted as a comic series in August 2007...
The first collected edition at Christmas 2008...
And on Comixology in 2009!

What was YOUR path to the Templar?
Were you there from the beginning? Or one of those who slowly warmed to the series once you realized it wasn't what you thought it was?

I've told you this in person, but I'll share.

I actually picked up Mice Templar, because when it was getting ready to come out David Petersen's (I hope I spelled that right) Mouse Guard was just starting out too. I think if I remember correctly they were going to be released about the same time. At the time I was very active on Newsarma and CBR boards, and there was a lot of discussion going on comparing the two books and contrasting the two books. There was also a great deal of Redwall being thrown around in the mix too.

I started looking around and found some preview art for both books, and I couldn't see any comparison between the two other than they both had sword wielding mice in them. So I tracked down Mouse Guard and put Mice Templar on my pull list. And have loved both series since then.

I wasn't around since the beginning, but I like to think I was one of the earlier fans at least since shortly before the release of Mice Templar Vol. 1 #1.

I just saw the trade at my lcs and the name was so awesome I had to pick it up and lead through. It looked amazing and I love sword fighting mice so it was a no brainer.
