Felt like this issue really settled into it's groove. I thought we got a good look at how much of a badass Markum is at his job. He got the drop on those Marines pretty easy. I thought his solution to the problem was both clever and fair. Nice to see that he's not just going to give a pass to anyone that needs his help. Really solid issue and looking forward to more of this title.

Ack! My wife picked up my comics yesterday and Near Death wasn't in the pile. Not sure if the shop didn't pull it for me, or they didn't get it. Gotta go today and see what's up.

Cool book. Loved the short story--what an added value! If we're tossing around Dominics for Markham, what about Purcell?

Jay, quick question. I know in the writer's room, everyone throws out ideas and the whys and wheres get hashed out, but is the individual script then written alone by the credited writer? I'm looking forward to your ep, but it was on hiatus this week. :(

Yes, the credited writer goes off and writes the actual script, but it's customary in the TV business for the showrunner to do a pass on the script (to help ensure the voices and tone are consistent) before it goes into production.

That makes sense. Thanks. Just one of those things that are a semi-mystery from the outside looking in. Speaking of semi-mysterys, for some reason, reading Near Death right before bed the other day gave me Markham related nightmares for real. :?

The beginning of the story was a bit unsettling being a child molester and all. I wasn't really sure I wanted to read it. I'm glad I did though. Maybe I'm naive, but I didn't see that coming at all. This will be interesting to read the different twists in the series.

I still need to read the Dodge's story in the back.

Picked up my copy the other day, and just forgot to come back and comment on it. I liked the issue a lot, and I liked the resolution of the "problem" at hand. I wasn't sure how he was going to fix the problem, but I really liked the way it worked out.

The banter in the beginning was cool too.

Great series so far, and I hope we get to see a lot more of it.

finally got around to reading #2... that's definitely an interesting way to "save" someone... question *pseudo-spoiler* Where's markham get the kiddie porn? did he have it on his person when he went to the house, or was it some sort of contingency plan?

It was a plan. Markham's always got a plan.
