I'm not exactly sure this is the right thread, but heck, it's sort-of a piece of Dragon's pre-history, so...

This is from Erik's old "One Fan's Opinion" column at CBR. God, I just checked the date and realized it's already 6 years old...!

Anyways, at one point, Erik mentions a story from his younger days :

I wonder how much of Young Erik's art class assignment found its way into Savage Dragon #s 108-111!

Absolutely none. I did manage to work Dragon into that assignment though--having the Thing and Dragon chew the rag over a couple of beers.

I loved The Lummox.

Character was much more interesting than The Brute, by a long shot. Also, loved the fact that we had closure with the character instead of lingering about with no sort of resolution. Hey, that's why I love Savage Dragon. Characters actually die, and stay dead!

I found Megaton #1 and #2 in a used book shop in Yuma, AZ, back when I was a kid in the early 90s.
They're some of the prize jewels of my collection, such as it is.

Yes--Dragon art. And the design was used for the Possessor (SD #65).
