Debuting in 1940 in Silver Streak Comics #6, the original Daredevil was a mute superhero who used boomerangs and his athletic abilities to wipe out American mobsters and international criminals. Capturing readers’ imaginations as he fought his nemesis, the evil Claw, the original Daredevil was a popular recurring character and eventual headliner in his own comic book series. In this volume, the first four expensive and hard-to-find Silver Streak Comics are finally collected in a deluxe hardcover volume! In addition to reprinting the original Daredevil’s debut episodes and early work by Jack Cole (Plastic Man), this essential volume of comic book treasures will present every story, gag strip, and text piece from the original anthologies!

That's pretty pricey but I'm tempted to get it...

Hmm... wonder where they got the idea for this? ;)

Seriously, though, I'll be very curious to see what this collection brings to the table. Dark Horse's track record with these things is spotty-- their recent Archie Archives are atrocious. But if this thing doesn't have horribly jaggy art, bad digital relettering, or gradients in the coloring, then color me interested.

Hopefully Amaazon has them real cheap. Too expensive for me as is.

Yeah--he was mute for ONE issue. Jack Cole had him talking in his second appearance. Weird that that's a selling point.

As books go--it's kind of a mixed bag. The Claw appeared earlier but they're skipping those and there's a LOT of shitty filler in these books--that was the biggest problem with ALL of these books--too much wretched crap. All of these are public domain and you can read them for free...not enough good stuff in there. It would make more sense to me to either reprint it from #1 or skip the crappy stuff and just do a straight up Daredevil collection and hit only his appearances.

I dunno. It just seems weird to do a Silver Streak collection and Vol. 1 reprints issues 6-9.

Are we going to get another issue, or is this project pretty much over?
