I'd like to see more stories focused on Angel. Malcolm has been getting a lot of the focus recently and seems to be building up as the main hero of the book. I'd hate for a strong character like Angel to be left on the sidelines!

Yeah! You know that cover with Malcolm and Angel in the sewer, with Malcolm standing over Angel defending her? How much more awesome would it have been if it was Angel defending a disabled Malcolm?!

I'd actually like to see a whole issue that's just Angel, no Fins anywhere.

My only complaint is that PJ has to go. Intellectually I understand the Wise Guys are drawn how they were drawn in the 40s and PJ was created to be a black Wise Guy so his character design fits perfectly with the Wise Guys and how PJ would have looked in 1940. The problem is that black kids in 1940 comic books were racial caricature and PJ's look in the issue where his mother died was offensive to me. He redesign an issue later of not having disportionately large lips has helped but I still find the kid offensive. Now that Dart II or III if you count alternative continuities is out of Jail I’m hoping she racks up another wise guy to her kill list which I admit was the most shocking and disturbing thing I’ve ever seen and an absolutely perfect character moment that served as a transparent window into Allison’s wickedly delightful psyche.

Oh and full disclosure I'm half black, like Malcom, so I know I'm overeacting to a character who has only appeared in a couple of panels drawn and written by a man who has for decades the most racially diverse cast in all of comics and not a racist bone in his body.

The Wise Guys (and Daredevil) can all be killed off for all I care. All intruders in a creator-owned book.

Heh. I love your hatred for those guys. It's so pure.

Oh it's very pure and I was pleased to see one of them go. When that happened, I thought to myself "ohh, there's the modern spin on an old theme, I get it now". But alas, now we find out they'll never age...

I'm going along with it, but y'know, we had finally gotten rid of "cartoon Angel" not so long ago and now we have these weird kids in every background. Things just don't seem so dire in a fight when you have Charlie Brown as a spectator. The attempt at adding DD in the book is alright, Erik's spin on a public domain character, I understand, but the dude does nothing and adds nothing. He just showed up and he has really weird issues with ... younger children. Replace DD with, i dunno, STAR and even menial appearances would've had more meaning. I've addressed this in the letter pages, might not be good enough for print, but the silver/golden age stuff has been going on for 100 issues now (with exceptions every now and then), it's a bit suffocating.

DD and The Little Wise Guys are the "LOST's Paolo and Nikki" of Savage Dragon, for those who get the reference.

I love the Little Wise Guys. I love how it's another thing, like cartoon Angel or Mr. Glum, that breaks with common perception of what belongs into a fictional world and what doesn't.

I like DD. He's got a cool visual and he's fun to watch. I don't mind the Wise Guys, they're harmless enough. My only issue with the various public domain characters is that they feel safe. And I'm not as attached to them as they aren't Erik's characters. They're like regular guest stars to me like as if Invincible showed up every issue.

I realise that Jock was killed off but that's mostly so PJ could take his place. The rest don't seem as if we need to worry about them. The normal cast could be killed at a moment's notice but the Wise Guys charging the Absorbanoids with sticks? Guys that have taken out Mighty Man before? Nah, they're safe.

It's weird.

Having said that, I quite like Pee Wee and PJ. They're fun kid characters. Not so taken with the others but that may be as they've had less development.

Yeah, it's scary how many characters that Erik has that could stand to receive some development. He's too prolific for his own good.
