My 2-29-12 pulls:

Unwritten #34.5 (and I'll be done with this series after April)

Batman Odyssey II #5 of 7

Spies, Vixens, & Masters of Kung Fu: The Art of Paul Gulacy

And I got that DHP with the Mignola cover from 2-22-12.

What'cha think?

I thought Paul Pope's 1969 was the highlight of the issue.

Haven't read even read #8 yet, Jim. I'm buried beneath borrowed library books I need to wade through, before I can catch up on my comics for the past six weeks. But I have to *buy* the books every week so I can get my discount.

The only things I've managed to read comics related since January 27th was my DEADMAN Vol. 2 TPB (Neal Adams) because I read it while my dad was in the doctor's office after I'd bought the book, JOHN BUSCEMA: A Life In Sketches and that Paul Gulacy book, both of which are obviously more art than text, so it's more of "ooh" and "ah" at the pretty pictures there.

And some TPBS I borrowed out of the library (Kraven's Last Hunt, Skinwalker, and some classic Star Wars collections) Everything else has been prose fiction.

As in 94 prose fiction books read since January 27th and I have another 13-18 to finish by 3/15 amidst all the other stuff I've got to do.

Speaking of... time to crack open some Charles Stross (RULE 34).

I'll probably get to read #8, 9 and 10 back to back to back at this rate. LOL

Got to take a look at the Girl Genius Omnibus book today, and I'm rather disappointed in it. For one thing, its the size and shape of a typical not-special at all HC GN. Its not over-sized, its not even the same larger squarer dimensions of the Girl Genius TPs. I'm rather disappointed, and I'm not even sure if I still want to pick it up. Or just go for the TPs, which appear to be more faithful to the size and shape of the original single issues.

I got to pick up The Manhattan Projects 1 a hair early, and GOD DAMN was that a good read. Hickman is hit or miss with me, but this is a solid hit out the gate. Its like, Prophet, good. With BKV's Saga out next week, Image could be scoring a major coup in the Science Fiction funnybook game. And I have to tell you. I love science fiction comics books gentleman. A lot.

Terminal City! Cool! I know next to nothing about this series, but I remember seeing commercials for it in some DC books I used to buy in the 90s, and lamenting years after the fact: "Man, this book looks good, why didn't I try it back then?". Well now I can. It used to be at Vertigo, right? And now Dark Horse is publishing the "Compleat" book?
