1) How far in advance do you have vaguely planned for SD? I know there's no end in sight as far as you're concerned but how far ahead do you have planned?

Aspects are planned out years--and even decades in advance--and others are made up on the spot--so there's no simple answer. I know the overall grand, sweeping arc of the series but not every detail. Much like how you might know what you want to be doing in ten years and general goals but not specifically what you might have for lunch next Thursday.

Rough pencils and dialogue as I make my first pass at putting an issue down on paper. The inking process is the most time consuming and often--most frustrating and tedious.

Myself. Savage Dragon is, essentially, me--though a tad more impulsive and vicious version.

Dark Horse is an interesting beast (one I've been examining more and more closely over the years) they basicly seem to be a jack of all trades publisher. As they own ips, they liecence franchises, they translate and import manga & euro comics, and they publish creator owned comics. Clearly they rely heavily on their licensed books (Buffy, Star Wars, etc) to pull the bulk of their weight, but if they can use that to support creator owned endeavors (if they pay page rates for creator owned titles that's a pretty sweet incentive to make sure your books are out on time), more power to them.

Also, Steve Bissette has complained about Dark Horse not paying royalties on his Godzilla and Aliens work.

Erik, you a fan of Captain Britain?

I was lucky enough to find a copy of the Omnibus for $60 during a LCS sale and decided it'd be worthwhile to read the two hardcovers leading up to Moore's run and am really, really enjoying this classic superhero fun -- particularly, Herb Trimpe's Kirby-esque take on the good Captain.

Being a massive Trimpe guy, I was wondering what you thought about this stuff.

I haven't read any of it. Most of it was unavailable during its run and I never sought it out. I think I have the Alan Moore written trade somewhere but I've never actually read it.

If you love Trimpe's work and classic Marvel goodness, I really recommend it --

Erik,

are you satisfied with your run on the TMNT? I own the collection, but currently reading vol. 1, so its a bit of a time when i get there. I got a lot of negative reaction at the time it was coming out. Whys that?

Erik,
Pat Mills and DC Comics recently set a date for a Marshal Law Omnibus
From Pat Mill's twitter
Quote:
DC Comics confirm Marshal Law omnibus for firm publication date of Spring 2013. It will feature all the Law stories apart from the crossovers. These might be included in a later omnibus edition. Sorry about delays, but this does sound as though it's finally set in stone.

If the second Crossover Omnibus does happen, how do you feel about the ML/Dragon mini being reprinted at DC?

Erik-

Who is the one (or couple of) artists that you think drew the Dragon so far out of whack that your stomach turns just looking at it?
