It was pretty good, not as good as all the hype it got. It was very well written but the idea and art was just okay to me. I'm on it for at least the first 5 issues. The Manhattan Projects is still the best number 1 of 2012 imo.

Really? I enjoyed TMP but I think Saga is setting up for a better overall run. I really liked the narration in Saga, and main theme seemed pretty solid to me. I guess we will see where it goes next issue, but I'm definitely looking forward to this series.

Anybody learning how to write a first issue should use Vaughn as an example. Just the right amount of exposition, a tight focus on the lead characters, several exciting moments and just enough mystery to keep things interesting.

Overall I like the art. I do feel the painted backgrounds don't always gel with the foreground characters. It feels like economical time saving choice rather then a creative one. For a big sci fi epic there needs to be a level of scope in the artwork that isn't here. But Staples has a knack for body language and facial expressions that is pretty great. I think this is a learning curve and I have faith Staples can make it work in the long run.

Bought it, read it... blah.
Art looks sketchy and rushed.
Story didn't do nothing for me...
I'm curious about Hazel but didn't even like the other characters.

I appreciate the double sized issue and wish you the best, but I'' be disappearing.

I'm with Dilutral.

I would have liked more story. Its 48pgs and still took 5 mins to read. I will pick up the eventually trade cause I could tell that, once again, here's another comic written for the trade format.

I loved it, as I knew I would. 'Rich' is the best way to describe it; the book has a fully-formed weird little universe firmly in play already, and the children's-book narration is both adorable and laced with menace. I love it.

Entertainment Weekly gave it an 'A': "It would be premature to dub it a masterpiece. It would be stupid to bet against it becoming one."

I thought it was ok, I am interested enough to give the next couple issues a shot and see where it is going.

What I was really disappointed with was glory this week.
