Today -- Vanguard Part 2 in its entirety! Yay! 
CoverThe cover was inked by Erik, and is the only page here without the contour ink stage. Frank did a couple of different prelims for this one before settling on the final composition. The thought was that Modem hadn't been seen in awhile and should be featured more prominently. Also, showing the tussle with SuperPatriot spoiled a bit of the story and made the image look a bit too much like the cover for Van Part 1.
Page 1I flatted page 1 while looking at the older Vanguard comics, and mistakenly colored his ship its old reddish color. This was fixed in the final colors.

Page 4Frank ended up going with a different first panel for this page. In the original version, Van's already dug himself out of the wall and is advancing toward Modem. It was decided that Van should still be sitting in the hole in the wall -- and Modem in that original version looked too small -- so Frank redrew it.
