I was actually thinking about that, as in the Vanguard back-up they actually speak. Then again, these guys could be a higher command and the grunts are sent to take over a planet on the surface.

The only thing that I didn't get was Dragon's "what?" after the firefight. Was it like Rick Grimes' "what?", or did he see something off-screen?

I could be wrong, but I took as the others were all giving him shocked looks because he single handedly took out all the tyranneans. I don't think they have ever witnessed violence like that.

Great to finally get #179 .. which was crammed full of developments ..

1. as far as Savage Dragon .. his personality seems like a mix of the pre-Kurr Dragon and Kurr .. felt a bit different .. mainly though, I guess that in either incarnation, Savage Dragon is far more savage than his people ..

2. on the cover it shows Dragon in his earth clothes fighting with Malcolm and Angel .. but on the inside it is Dragon with his people in his Space Ranger outfit .. I guess that somehow Dragon will teleport to earth or something similar in the next issue ..

3. looks like a lot of characters are dying due to this invasion .. I mean, I don't think the "borrowed" characters like Invincible, Spawn, Witchblade, Shadowhawk will die .. but it looks a good bit of the Larsenverse won't make it ..

4. the ending with Angel's dying wish being to "make love" with Malcolm .. kinky ..

#180 can't get here too soon ..

The covers aren't canon. This one just represents that both Dragon and his kids are fighting the aliens.

And yep, I'd be betting on not everyone making it through the next issue. Who survives? The kids and OverLord, for sure. Who knows about anyone else?!

I'm hoping for a good amount of death next issue. Erik can do some house cleaning when it comes to some of the VC and The Gods. There always seems to be a large number of those guys.

As for anyone else, I'm not so sure. There really aren't that many expendable heroes as there are VC and Gods.

That's true. Perhaps Erik's going to kill some not-so expendable hero? Never know with this book.
