I agree this read as a prologue to the main event of Something To Fear. I worry that Rick's kiss of Andrea just marked her for death. Will Michonne broaden her horizons and get with Rick if Andrea falls?

michonne seems to hate rick now haha everytime he says something she has her face down and looks so pissed haha

very much in-keeping with her character. She has always supported Rick, but its always been clear she really just supports being safe and not taking unnecessary risks (aside from chasing the governor).

Did you guys get the sense that Carl smiled a bit when Rick said that Carl would not get scared?

If so, that was my favorite part. Carl's issue with has dad has always been a bit overblown to me. He just wants his dad to think of him as a serious adult individual. Which, though magnified by the violent world they live in, is something all pre-teens go through.

I... didn't mind this issue. Pretty good stage-setting. Answered a lot of questions, opened the door to a hell of a lot of plot possibilities.

Anyone else get the very strong impression that "Something to Fear" refers to Rick & Co.?

I did, and it's what I've been hoping for all along. I really hope that this is what we get as well.

Except, that Euge had a going point in the preview thread... that pretty much the previous threats have been steam-rolled by rick and co (save the governer) and to do that again here would just seem predictable and boring. Rick is being set up as overconfident in this issue... and therefore the "twist" would be for the rick and friends to finally get steam rolled.

It has the potential to be verra, verra interestin'.

You know, I wonder if the next stage in Rick's character development isn't going to be reconciling Good, Civilized Rick with Warrior Rick. Thus far, it's sort of been set up as a dichotomy between Rick and the Governor. I think we might be getting to the point where Rick realizes he doesn't have to be the Governor to be a warrior.

The Saviors might also bring in that whole Mad Max element which I've sort of been jonesing for, down in the deep hidden corners of my soul, since the beginning of the book. I've loved damn near every issue of the book, but there's a part of me that wants to see guys with mohawks and leather jackets and buzzsaws riding around on motorcycles.

Yeah Pride goeth before the fall. Rick and company are going to get taken down. And I started to get the feeling that he shouldn't have trusted Jesus. They made a big point of how he does now, so next thing you know Jesus will turn on them durring their confrontation with the Saviors.

Kirkman is obviously a fan of "Seven Samurai" judging by the general direction of this story.

Plus the issue was one big giant message to the fans that people are going to die, and horribly.
