I'm with you guys on this. It would be nice if Rick stepped down from a spotlight for some time. There are many interesting old and new characters in the story, I hope Kirkman gives them more facetime, even or especially if it means fading Rick and Carl into background a little.

I agree we should see more of other people. But you have to think about what is going on in their lives recently. they had been attacked by a hoard of zombies, Jesus shows up, they learn about new communities around, now there is a bad living threat on the horizon.

With all of this big events, the leader of the group will be in the middle of everything. Their lives will be revolving around all of this, so it makes sense Rick is all over the story now. The other people are basically waiting to see what happens or digging more ditches. Their times will come when things settle down again. IMO anyway.

I'm glad it went this turn. At least Rick's groups got some allies in the coming storm against "the Saviors." Rick's completely right, everything they've fought for has been leading to this moment. If it all goes smoothly they can stop looking over their shoulder and start living. But it never goes smoothly does it...I'm interested to see Jesus and the spear wielding Kal, f!ck some sh!t up and become regulars in the series. LOVE new characters.

My prediction for #100, Rick joins that pile of dead from the cover, they beat Negan, and Andrea is left to raise an adopted son who killed her prior adopted son.

Which gets further complicated when Carl's balls drop and he discovers "aunty" Andrea is damn hot. Comedy ensues!

Hot stuff! Didn't even think of that! I want to see a cover with a 14 year old Carl kissing Andrea!

Didn't want to start a whole other thread on the subject, but I think Kirkman started Carl out waaaay too young (something they've corrected on the show by making him 11 or 12). He's no more than 9 in the comic, and at that age a kid isn't really physically or mentally capable of playing much more of a role in the comic than Sophia has. You can say the apocalypse made him grow up fast, but really, right now he's being written like two to three times older than he actually is. I hope at some point in the series there's a fast forward. Honestly I'm hoping there's one right now where there's a couple month gap between when they left the hill top and go after Negan. And as for Negan, what's the smart approach? Move the Alexandria population to the Hilltop and wait for Negan, and gun his group down in the open when they come to find out why they aren't getting their offering. I have a feeling though that Kirkman will have Rick and Co pursue them.

I really don't think Kirkman will off the major cast in 100 because it's just too damn obvious. He has never been guilty of falling into that trap, and I certainly hope he doesn't start to now. "Major death with milestone issue" is such a played out trope that I will be sorely disappointed if that's where it goes.
