The design of The Stalk is a harsh reminder of how boring most comic-book characters look.

I love this book. Who's doing the questionnaire at the back?

Ditto. That goes for every character in Saga. :)

I'm thinking of filling it out.

I got both #2 and #1 (third printing) in today. I really like this comic on almost every level. Issue one had 44 pages of story and was only priced $2.99, so it was basically a double-sized comic for the price of a regular one, can't complain about that.

Yeah, so Saga and Prophet: two new series that I'm really excited about. I like the pulp sci-fi feel of Prophet, while Saga seems more like a sci-fi/fantasy blend. Nevertheless both have been action packed and full of gorgeous artwork... makes me wonder why Marvel did away with their sci-fi comics... Guardians of the Galaxy and Nova were the two best things Marvel was publishing a couple of years ago. And then then killed both of them. Disgraceful, really.

Read both of them last night. I love the protagonists. While still being original and creative, they feel like real people. They seemed like normal people, which is something I like. Not to mention the writing was able to pull off making the "Rocket Ship forest" seem like something out of the Star Trek version of Candy Land. Also, I am really loving the differences between the two races. The moon people seem right-leaning, conservative, and superstitious; while the plant people seem left-leaning, liberal, and science based. It is an awesome contrast that I wish more books were able to fully explain as well as BKV has done. I could read this book forever.

The art was nice too. Ms. Staples art was stellar. It really stood out and it "fit" very well with the writing. The handwritten narrations were a very nice touch. I hope she does a lot more books, because she has lot of talent that could be put to good use. She is now my second favorite artist.

I hope to see some awesome stuff from this series.
